  1. My devices are set to only allow updates over wifi. When the device is asleep and not plugged in, wifi will eventually turn off. Thus, no app updates. My solution to this is to plug it in every night, checking to make sure I am connected to wifi before I do. Sometimes, once it quits updating, you have to log out of and back in to the app store before this hint will start working.
    iOS 10 is much worse about this than iOS 11.
